YAKIMA, Wash., May 8, 2018 - Opal®, the highly-acclaimed apple creating a frenzy in the category, crowned Angie G. of Covington, Kentucky the Grand Prize winner in the SupercrispiOpalicious Jingle contest. Taking place this spring, the contest challenged fans to create and perform their own original song on video about why they love Opal apples.

Angie's original song, "The First Time I Had an Opal Apple," was well received by a panel of judges for its creativity, originality and energy. The contest then moved into its second phase with a public voting period via the Opal apples website. Angie's entry was chosen as the Grand Prize winner based on a mix of the public vote and a second round of scoring by judges for musicality and originality.

Angie's hard work was rewarded with a trip for two to New York City including round-trip airfare, a three-night stay at the Kimberly Hotel, two Broadway show tickets, and cash for additional expenses and fun.
