Santa Maria, CA –  February 26, 2025 – Main Street Produce is excited to announce a significant expansion of its organic berry supply, marking a new chapter in its long-standing commitment to delivering premium-quality produce year-round. For the first time, the company will feature in-house organic production, enhancing its control over product quality and consistency.

“Securing our own organic acreage is a major step forward,” said Steve Circle, Director of Sales at Main Street Produce. “This allows us to be more agile in meeting customer demand for organic berries while maintaining the integrity and quality that define our brand.”

The company is in the final stages of acquiring an 80-acre organic farm, which will be planted later this summer and is expected to begin producing by fall of next year. This development complements Main Street Produce’s existing 52-week program and will reduce reliance on third-party growers for organic volume. The company will also initiate organic production in Baja this winter, further bolstering supply diversity.

“Our organic program is evolving from a supplemental offering to a strategic cornerstone of our business,” said Mark Murai, President and CEO of Main Street Produce. “This growth reflects both market demand and our long-term vision for sustainable farming.”

In tandem with the new acreage, the company is advancing its Bonita Ranch project, an initiative that involves revitalizing a once-abandoned property into a fully operational organic farm. This transformation will be tracked by an independent firm to highlight the environmental restoration and sustainable impact of the project.

Under the leadership of Mark Murai, President and CEO of Main Street Produce, the company continues to build on its legacy of innovation and sustainability. Murai, a longtime industry leader with deep roots in California agriculture, has championed the company’s expansion into organic production and its investment in long-term partnerships. His strategic vision has guided the growth of Main Street Produce into a vertically integrated operation known for its commitment to quality, transparency, and environmental stewardship.
